National project “JUDU su STEAM” (“Move with STEAM”)
European Week of Sport (#BeActive) takes place in Europe from 23 to 30 September. The project “JUDU su STEAM” invites Lithuanian early-years and pre-primary teachers to discover, together with children, how physical activity can be combined creatively with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics).
A simple ball throw can become a study of distance, an obstacle course can become an engineering challenge, and a jump can become an experiment in measuring and comparing results.
Aim
To encourage the physical activity of early-years and pre-primary children by integrating STEAM elements and giving children the chance to learn by exploring, experimenting, creating and moving.
Who can take part
Children and teachers of early-years and pre-primary education institutions in the Republic of Lithuania. The number of participants from one institution is not limited.
Duration and registration
14 September – 30 October 2026. Registration and project material are submitted through a Google Forms form by 30 October 2026 at the latest. Material is not accepted after the deadline.
The form asks for: the name of the institution, the teacher’s name and email, the age of the children, the title of the activity, the STEAM areas integrated, the equipment needed, a short description of the activity (up to 150 words) and 2–4 photographs of the activity.
Outcome
An electronic methodological publication “JUDU su STEAM” will be prepared from the material submitted. It will be sent to the participants and published on this website. Certificates of appreciation and of participation will be issued by 30 November 2026.
Institutions are responsible for collecting parents’ (guardians’) consent to photograph the children and to publish the photographs.
